Considering your life purpose

One of the biggest questions we ask ourselves is, “What is my life purpose?” At midlife this question becomes more urgent as we realize the years for finding and acting on the answer are getting less.

Jung felt that we are all here to continuously work on revealing who we were created to be, and that at midlife this call becomes loudest. He called this process ‘individuation’ and many can relate to a midlife sense of urgency to reveal our true selves and understand what we were born to do.

There are many books written to help you uncover your life purpose, through reading and exercises to evaluate what you have done and what your goals are for the future. One I have found particularly helpful was this one:

The basis of these exercises to to find out what makes you feel fulfilled and happy, recognize your specific skills and talents, who or what inspires you, what causes you to lose all track of time, and what you want to see when look back on your life and know you have accomplished.
